Riyadh, The Saudi capital, will host an International Conference on the Future of the Desalination Industry, which is intended to be the first global gathering of its kind that discusses the prospects and solutions of the future of water in the world in order to develop the industry and research and propose sustainable solutions, under the slogan “SWCC in Space”. the conference is organized by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation next September 11th - 13th. The event will be attended by policy makers, innovators, financers, marketers, operators, contractors, developers, as well as technology suppliers from all around the world.

 

The conference will witness launching a set of initiatives and qualitative alliances that aim to enhance water desalination infrastructure over the next decade, on top of which comes the initiative of the World Bank to support investment plans in regulating water desalination processes and to discuss new solutions to find cost-saving opportunities, and to invest in unconventional water resources, where it comes in line with the Kingdom’s vision for the year 2030, which inspires the world with its responsible approach to find modern energy and climate solutions to participate in the efforts aiming to build a sustainable future that reaches carbon neutral by 2060.

 

On the other hand, the conference will discuss supporting innovation potentials in this field by targeting the constitution of an alliance that include the best innovators around the world, an alliance that shall be committed to accelerating the pace of ideas transfer from laboratory to commercial application on ground

Furthermore, The conference will advise a roadmap for the development of unconventional water desalination industry until 2030, through examining opportunities to reduce carbon emissions by 50%, developing revenues in the industry, and aiming to reach the cost of water desalination to become the world standard price (0.32) dollars per cubic meter.

 

The conference will take the attendees on a tour to the future through the "SWCC's Future Dome", which will reveal to them the possibility of finding water in space, as well as the underseas and floating systems
