SWCC and Uni. of Oxford Enriches Innovation

Cooperation between SWCC and University of Oxford enriches the Innovation Driven Desalination Conference 2023
Oxford University is planning to collaborate with the Saudi Water Academy in developing short term courses, mainly on innovation, desalination and sustainability, according to an official of the university.
Dr. Michael Mbogoro, Corporate Services Director of Oxentia, Oxford’s Global Innovation Consultancy, said that the university’s priority is to establish a strong link with SWA and the Saudi ecosystem. “We see better future prospects and attractive opportunities for collaboration with Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest producer of desalinated water, especially in the field of training. We want to pool our expertise and experience in the field of innovation too,” he said.
Mbogoro arrived in Jeddah to attend the Innovation Driven Desalination Conference 2023, which is being held in Jeddah. He presented a paper on “Managing Innovative Technology, IP based scenarios” at one of the workshops held on the sidelines of the conference on Monday.
In his presentation, Mbogoro focused on the topics of innovation, licensing and marketing. “The presentation highlighted the significance of corporate innovation on entrepreneurship with a focus on how companies manage creation of new ideas within teams. “The session dealt with evaluating and commercializing intellectual property and how intellectual property created by one entity can be used by another through a licensing agreement. I also explained how to find markets, citing a successful case study of taking the Oxford technology to the market,” he added
