WTIIRA signs an agreement with Kuwait Institute for Training and Engineering Simulations
The Saline Water Conversion Corporation, represented by its research arm Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements (WTIIRA), has signed a research agreement with Kuwait Institute for Training and engineering simulations (KITES) to cooperate in building a solar-powered pilot desalination plant in order to test the technologies in the pilot desalination plant and continuously improve the system whenever necessary.
The agreement, in its entirety, aims to allow for conducting research and development activities by a group of KITES’s experts and researchers, including the supply and installation of two units in the pilot plants of SWCC. The solar system relies on solar collectors, which in turn depend on evaporating water, in the first place, and then condensing water to produce desalinated water contributing to improving the quality of the water production process and achieving environmental sustainability, which represents SWCC’s most important objectives in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Under the agreement, SWCC emphasizes its vital role in creating the future of water desalination industry based on an economic perspective focusing on supporting and developing the national research and innovations by national forces, which will bring sustainable benefit and good and will maximize the benefit from the desalination industry and related industries, contributing to raising the quality of desalinated water.
