WTIIRA hosts Strategic Sectors Committee
With a view to enhance cooperation and explore investment opportunities in sea mining, the Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements (WTIIRA) hosted the Strategic Sectors Committee at Asharqia Chamber. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Committee Eng. Khalid Al-Zamil and included a group of experts, government officials and businessmen. The visit aims to review the investment opportunities and exchange ideas and innovations in the water industry.
During the meeting, WTIIRA’s strategy and its impact on achieving leadership in the area of advanced technologies and innovative research were discussed. A great deal of emphasis was placed on transforming the desired goals into actual results by introducing modern technologies and innovative research. The two parties discussed the investment opportunities in sea mining, which is considered a promising sector that may contribute to achieving economic development and sustainability.
In the context of joint cooperation, points of view and information were exchanged between members of the Committee and WTIIRA’s team about the prospects for cooperation in developing sea mining projects and the investment opportunities available in this promising sector. The importance of strengthening cooperation between the private sector and the government to achieve sustainability and expand investment horizons in the area of sea mining was emphasized.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of the facilities of Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements and the Committee was briefed on the specialized laboratories equipped with the latest technologies and advanced infrastructure. WTIIRA’s pilot plant was also visited where a detailed explanation was given about the research and development being carried out through the pilot units. The current and future projects were reviewed, as well.
The Strategic Sectors Committee was greatly impressed by WTIIRA’s capabilities and technologies and praised the efforts made in the field of water desalination and utilization of saline water sources to enhance national production and encourage innovations in the desalination technologies. The Committee further expressed its desire to promote cooperation and exchange expertise and knowledge with WTIIRA to enhance sustainable development and explore investment opportunities in the field of sea mining.
It is noteworthy that the Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements seeks to encourage cooperation between the government and industrial sectors with a view to exchange knowledge and expertise, and promoting innovation and development in the field of water and desalination technologies. It is expected that this visit will contribute to strengthening strategic partnerships and achieving further progress in the areas of research, development and investment for future projects aimed at achieving sustainable sea mining and exploiting water resources with high efficiency.
