World Bank reviews WTIIRA’s Capabilities
SWCC’s research arm, the Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements, welcomed a delegation from the World Bank led by Mr. Marcus Weichhardt in charge of water resources management. The exploratory visit focused on reviewing the pioneering achievements and innovations in the desalination industry and scientific research. The visit allowed for exchanging the ideas and experiences between the delegation and WTIIRA’s research team, on promoting environmental sustainability and accelerating progress towards desalination objectives. Emphasis was also placed on developing regulatory frameworks and policies to achieve tangible results in addressing and finding solutions to water problems and challenges globally.
The visit has aimed to build an effective partnership between the World Bank and WTIIRA to support the Bank's efforts in strengthening capacities in the countries with low rate of growth, within the framework of enhancing infrastructure efficiency and sustainability in these countries, in line with global sustainability goals.
This step is a confirmation of the international cooperation in improving water management and achieving water security for future generations, and a promotion of technology and innovation as a main way to achieve vital goals.
This important visit by the World Bank is conducted within the framework of international cooperation to improve water management and address water scarcity challenges faced by many countries. Desalination technology and innovation in this industry also constitute an essential part of the sustainable solutions to meet global water needs. It is expected that the cooperation between the World Bank and the Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements will be promoted through the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and the adoption of a regulatory framework contributing to achieving favorable results in the desalination industry, enhancing sustainability and achieving water security for communities around the world.
It is noteworthy that Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancements focuses greatly on developing technologies to address the increasing challenges in preserving global water resources. In context of the KSA Vision 2030, SWCC aims to achieve water security through sustainable projects and strengthening its leadership in the desalination industry domestically and internationally by commitment to continuous improvement, which enhances its leadership in the desalination industry locally and globally.
