"SWCC" and "WTTCO" begun to activate the management services assignment agreement
Saline Water Conversion Corporation "SWCC" and the Water Transmission and Technologies Company "WTTCO" have begun the implementation of the management services support agreement signed in January under the auspices of H.E. the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saline Water Conversion Corporation, Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, in the presence of H.E. the Governor of " SWCC" and chairman of the Board of Directors of "WTTCO", Eng. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Abdul-Karim.
This agreement is as an interim step of developing water sector and the innovative solutions in fields of water technologies and research, which includes the separation of production assets from transport, storage and commercial basis, and ensures a gradual transition of managing, operating and maintaining water transport, storage and maintenance systems across the Kingdom, from SWCC to WTCCO, with the aim of increasing business performance and sustainability of desalinated water supply services.
Referring to that, the stages of activation begin with systems, processes, governance of procedures, the creation of support services and the signing of trade agreements with partners in the sector, in addition to receiving operational assets and the start of the development of new projects in the system, in order to improve and develop operational efficiency and reduce capital cost, where the company is expected to contribute to raising the efficiency and organization of the water sector and achieving a prosperous future for the Kingdom's economy, adding more than 60 billion riyals of investment opportunities through the private sector to involve future projects.
