SWCC WON THE HIGHEST GLOBAL WATER INTELLIGENCE AWARDS SWCC IS THE GLOBAL BEST WATER COMPANY 2021
SWCC won the Global Best Water Desalination Company Award 2021 in the international competition organized by Global Water Intelligence (GWI), which is a global organization concerned with water issues, research, and events in the international water industry. With robust engagement evinced as always, SWCC has successfully notched up such a resounding achievement, beyond compare, among many government agencies and distinguished private companies in establishing, operating, developing, and managing water projects all over the world.
Widely resonating, the announcement came out June 02 of 2021 via Remo Platform in a blitz of virtual meetings, as part of the annual ceremony that highlighted the key achievements put into action in the water industry in 2020. The joyfully festive event attracted multinational delegations, representing all the countries that contributed and participated in the said competition. It is a special event that confers the highest honor and award in the Global Best Water Company, which recognizes only water projects that demonstrate the greatest innovation to improve their production or environmental footprint.
SWSS has competently won this award, par excellence, for its leadership and the successful activities carried out in 2020; SWCC has recorded the globally highest number of desalinated water production at 5.9 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day. Equally important, SWCC has also achieved record numbers in reducing energy consumption down to less than 2.27 KWH/ M3 in the production systems manufactured and innovated by SWCC national human resources, thankfully. In a similar vein, it has made rapid progress in cutting-edge innovation in state-of-the-art technologies, such as energy recovery technologies and zero saline return technology, in which precious metals are extracted and better invested and converted into commodities of high economic value.
Equally important, concerted and qualitative efforts are made by SWCC to further enhance water resources in the Kingdom and better improve natural resources by investing in asset efficiency and developing technologies, inspired by the strategy set for promoting local content and localizing and developing the desalination industry, in addition to the key initiatives developed to set the stage to maximize the utilization of assets that enabled SWCC to achieve significant cost reduction for the Kingdom. This also includes increasing production efficiency, by replacing thermal technologies for production systems with the most economical, quality and environmentally friendly Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, which remarkably contributed to doubling the production and supply of desalinated water. Driven to realize optimization, SWCC has also developed energy recovery technologies, and raising efficiency up to about 98.5%, which makes up an increase of more than 3%, and developing the efficiency of high pressure pumps up to 95%, which accounts for about 10%.
